The Board of Directors of the Boone-Duden Historical Society recently appointed Ralph Gregory as Director Emeritus.Gregory is one of the founding members of the society, and has served on the society’s board and advisory council. At the age of 105, Ralph recently decided to retire and move to Arizona to be close to his family. He wants to keep up with local activities so mail may be sent to him in care of Nancy Kimball, 1744 W Cinnabar Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85021-2042 or emailed to nkimball2@cox.net.The society would like to welcome Nancy Baker and Penny Pitman, who were recently elected to serve on the advisory council, and thank retiring members Jim Jackman and Judy Prager for their years of service.The society’s next meeting will be held on Monday, June 29, at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the Emmaus Home on Highway D near Marthasville.Cathie Schoppenhorst will be presenting “The Demise of the Pinckney Ferry in 1838” along with brief stories of two other early Missouri River ferries.
