The Marthasville Area Chamber of Commerce and Boone Area clergy will host the annual Boone Area Ecumenical Prayer Breakfast Wednesday, March 9, at St. Ignatius Parish Center in Concord Hill. The breakfast begins at 7 a.m. and will conclude at 8:30 a.m.Retired pastor and storyteller Paul Schwartzkopf will be the guest speaker. He has been telling stories for over 30 years, and has participated in the St. Louis Storytelling Festival and other smaller festivals in the Midwest. He has developed first-person presentations of St. Francis of Assisi, Martin Luther, and Civil War chaplain Augustus DeFoe. At the Prayer Breakfast, Schwartzkopf will be telling stories of a World War II veteran and a Vietnam veteran.Tickets are $10 and are available from Chamber members and local clergy. Proceeds from the breakfast benefit the Washington Overseas Mission to Honduras.Prayer Breakfast
