A bomb scare in Warrenton Sunday afternoon turned out to be a beeping scanner that had been left in a collection box outside the post office, authorities reported. A portion of Main Street between Thurman and Highway 47 was closed as a precuation. Emergency crews were dispatched at 2:15 p.m. to the post office after it was reported a beeping noise was coming from one of the collection boxes.
