U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt will be the keynote speaker at Lincoln Day Banquet hosted by the Montgomery County and Warren County Republican Central committees on Friday, Feb 5.The event will be held at the Jonesburg Community Center, with social gathering starting at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m.Blunt was elected U.S. senator in 2010, after serving for many years as U.S. Congressman for Missouri’s 7th Congressional District, where he served as acting House Majority Leader, House Minority Whip, and House Majority Whip. In the U.S. Senate, Blunt serves as chairman of the Senate Rules Committee. Prior to serving in the U.S. Congress, Roy Blunt served as president of Southwest Baptist University, Missouri’s 33rd Secretary of State (1985-1993), and County Clerk of Greene County.Many Republican candidates for statewide offices are expected to attend the banquet.Tickets are $25 per person or $40 per couple, and can be obtained from Republican committee members and elected officials in both Montgomery and Warren counties.
