Birthday Blessings, a Missouri nonprofit that provides resources to local foster kids, is holding their annual Birthday Bash Campaign April 1-5.
During this time, an anonymous donor will match funds up to a total of $5,000. Their campaign goal is to raise $15,000.
The nonprofit has a variety of programs targeted at meeting the physical and emotional needs of kids in care. From birthday parties in duffle bags to baskets of baby care items, they try to make everything look like a visual feast for the eyes when the kids receive the items.
“When a kid in care gets a whole box or bag full of wrapped gifts picked especially for them, it touches their heart,” said Shannon VonAllmen, Executive Director. “When you fill a child with hope and cheer, it gives them courage to keep working through challenging circumstances.”
“None of us can fix the world. But, when you donate to Birthday Blessings, you are making a positive impact in the life of a child. To that child, it can mean the world,” she said. “This campaign is an opportunity to double that impact.”
Donations can be made online at www.birthday-blessings.org or mailed to Birthday Blessings, 429 Aid Ave, West Plains MO 65775. Checks postmarked during the event will be counted towards the match. Call 417-372-5306 for more information.
Rachelle Frey, of Warrenton, serves as secretary on the group's board of directors.
