An 80-year-old motorcycle rider died after a crash on Highway U Saturday, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.The 1986 Honda Magna motorcycle, driven by Bobby G. Baxter of Warrenton, failed to negotiate a curve near Woolf Road, traveled off the right side of the road and overturned, according to the highway patrol. The crash happened around 6:50 p.m. Baxter reportedly was wearing a helmet.Baxter was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis by Warren County Ambulance. He died early the next morning at 1:15 a.m., according to the Highway Patrol.No other injuries were reported in the crash.Another motorcycle accident on Saturday left one man with moderate injuries.Terry L. Watson, 54, of Hazelwood, was westbound on Highway 94 near Bethlehem School Road, riding a Harley-Davidson Road King motorcycle at about 1:25 p.m. The highway patrol reported that Watson failed to negotiate a turn and traveled off the right side of the roadway. Watson, who was wearing a helmet at the time, was taken to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis by Marthasville Ambulance District.Correction: This story has been updated to clarify that Mr. Baxter died several hours after being taken to a hospital.
