Tom Beaver will be the guest speaker at the opening ceremony for the Marthasville bicentennial celebration at noon Saturday, June 17, at the city park pavilion.Beaver is the creator of “Good Old Marthasville.” His presentation is called “Marthasville: Bigger Than It Looks — an Appreciation of My Hometown After 30 Years in New York City.”On the same day, the Washington Brass Band will perform at 11 a.m. At noon, American Legion Daniel Boone Post 180 of Marthasville will post colors. The band will play the national anthem and members of Boy Scout Troop 359 will lead in the pledge of allegiance. To recognize the important role Emmaus Home has been to the heritage and history of Marthasville, its choir will perform. In appreciation of his dedicated service to providing health care to the Marthasville area for 36 years, retiring Dr. Tim Long will be honored.Marthasville Bicentennial
