Mrs. Barbara Ann Gerringer (nee: Donahue) of Wright City, passed away on Monday, April 15, at the age of 90 years. She was born on November 27, 1933, in St. Louis, to the late John and Cecelia (nee: Fister) Donahue. Barbara was the middle child, with 4 older siblings and 4 younger siblings. Her humble beginnings shaped her into the wonderful, selfless, faithful, and generous woman we all loved so much.

Barbara Gerringer was united in marriage to Les Bernard Gerringer on June 25, 1955, in St. Louis. They celebrated 68 wonderful years together. They were blessed with four children, Sandy, David, Sheila and Tom. During the early years of raising their children in Florissant, she and Les and the kids also made many wonderful memories spending time at their second home in Biehle, MO. Barbara and Les made many happy memories traveling, such as their once in a lifetime trip to Alaska and spending many fun-filled winters in Marco Island, Florida. Years later they moved to a beautiful home in Wright City to enjoy their retirement. She and Les found a new Church home at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Warrenton. Barbara had a very strong love and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Her faith was an extremely important part of her life. While at Holy Rosary, she participated in the Quilting of Valor and was also a part of the St. Anne Sodality, both groups she was very honored to be a part of.

Barbara was also an avid reader, enjoying a variety of authors. Barbara was often described as someone who "never met a stranger," making connections with everyone she met. Her love of music was a joy to behold, and she loved dancing with Les when she had the opportunity. Barbara's greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She enjoyed going fishing with her husband and also enjoyed working in their garden. She declared herself a rich woman because of the blessings of a wonderful, caring family.

Barbara was a loving and devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, John and Cecelia. She is survived by her loving husband, Les; her children, Sandy Weekley, David Gerringer and wife Vicky, Sheila Green and husband Tom, Tom Gerringer and wife Shelley; eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Loretta Ford and Jane Grisham and husband Jerry; other relatives and many friends.

Barbara's family will host a visitation in her honor on Sunday, April 21, from 3 P.M. - 6 P.M. at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Monday, April 22, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church beginning at 10 A.M. Following the service will be a burial at the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, and a luncheon at Holy Rosary Church.
