Awaiting a nomination

President-elect Donald Trump made many promises of what he would do when he assumes office, and his nomination of a Supreme Court justice is one announcement that many of his voters are anxiously awaiting. For some voters, the Supreme Court appointment was their chief concern.Trump is expected to nominate a conservative as the ninth justice. Right now the court is 4-4 on many issues — four liberals and four conservatives. Justice Antonin Scalia, a conservative, died last February.Trump will nominate Scalia’s successor. Republicans blocked action on President Barack Obama’s nomination of Judge Merrick Garland.Along with abortion, religious freedom and gun rights are important issues in federal courts. No president has been able to deliver on all promises made. Trump has a Republican House and Senate and that bodes well for his agenda.
