Warren County is offering a new automated service to notify citizens during severe weather. The service, known as "CodeRED," is an emergency notification system which residents may register for to receive alerts by phone, text message or email. CodeRED will provide automated alerts to citizens in the path of severe storms shortly after warnings are issued by the National Weather Service. No notification will be sent if the area is placed under a watch for severe weather. People may visit the Warren County Emergency Management Agency's website — www.warrencountyema.com — or the Warren County Health Department's website — www.warrencountyhealth.com — to register. A user ID and password will need to be created, so people are urged to sign up directly. Warren County residents who previously registered for emergency notifications will need to re-register with CodeRED to receive notifications in the future. For more information, people may call the Warren County EMA at 636-456-3786 or the health department at 636-456-7474.
