ATV crash leads to child endangerment charges

An ATV crash that injured two boys has resulted in child endangerment charges being filed against a 33-year-old Warrenton man.Andrew D. Likes, of the 2300 block of Santa Maria Drive in Warrenton, was charged last week with first-degree child endangerment, a felony, and second-degree child endangerment, a misdemeanor. A $10,000 bond has been set.On April 18, 2014, police said, Likes was operating a 2006 Polaris ATV in the backyard of his residence and allowed two 12-year-old kids to ride without securing them in seat belts or requiring them to wear a helmet. Likes allegedly was driving too fast, made a sharp turn, causing the ATV to overturn.One of the boys was airlifted to the hospital and had a skull fracture and bruising to his brain, according to the probable cause statement. The crash was reported at 2:40 p.m.ATV crash leads to child endangerment charges
