How long have you been playing basketball, volleyball and soccer?
“I think I started playing all of those sports about my eighth grade year at LCA. I have played basketball since kindergarten and I’ve always played it my whole life, but soccer and volleyball I started in eighth grade.”
What’s your favorite sport out of those three?
“Probably basketball. I grew up with it, so I’d say that’s probably my favorite.”
Why is basketball your favorite?
“I’ve had really good coaches every year and I have been playing it for so long. Also, my family played basketball and I just grew into it. I’m just naturally better at basketball than everything else.”
Do you plan to play in college?
“My goal is to play a sport in college. I don’t know where or what division or anything. I’ll probably play basketball, but I don’t know exactly where yet.”
What positions do you play?
“For soccer, I’m a striker and then basketball, I’m point guard and for volleyball, I’m an outside hitter and I play all around for volleyball, but I prefer to play outside hitter.”
How are you feeling after your surgery?
“I feel confident. I feel like I’m going to be way better because I don’t stress about hurting it. I think giving it this summer off of it and taking it easy is really going to help me be better this year.”
What goals do you want to achieve before you graduate?
“Honestly, just having a good year all around for every sport. I don’t have a certain goal I want to hit, but just have a good season and maybe winning state for all three again would be really fun.”
What lessons have you learned through sports?
“It doesn’t always matter if you win, as long as you have a good team and supportive people around you that makes a difference in your life no matter what.”
Do you have a favorite sports memory?
“For volleyball, we did a team car wash that was so fun. It’s so random, but we all got to school and we were all cleaning cars and it was for a fundraiser for getting uniforms. But it was so fun because we sprayed each other with the hose and threw soap everywhere. It was a good time.”
