Authorities have charged a Wright City man for allegedly holding a knife to a woman’s throat and then beating her.
Ryan W. Parsons, 36, is charged with two counts of second-degree domestic assault, a class D felony. Wright City police arrested Parsons Feb. 9 after the assault was reported.
The victim in the assault told police that Parsons held a knife to her throat while they were in a parked car in Wright City, according to an arrest report. The victim alleged that Parsons threatened to harm them both if she didn’t do what he told her. She told police that Parsons then let go of the knife and she threw it out the window. Police later recovered the weapon at the scene.
Parsons then allegedly choked the woman until she was losing consciousness, while also biting, head-butting and punching her, the victim told police.
Officers reported that the victim had lacerations around her face, along with bruising on her face, shoulder and arm. The woman was taken to St. Joseph West hospital in Lake St. Louis.
Parsons is being held at the Warren County Jail without bond.
