Three people accused in a break-in and assault in Warren County also are named in a federal indictment for money laundering, drug distribution and robbery.Jack T. Huck, Dakota W. McCain and Seth D. Ault were charged earlier this month in Warren County Circuit Court with first-degree assault, armed criminal action, first-degree attempted robbery and first-degree burglary.According to a federal grand jury indictment, the three suspects are among at least a dozen men involved in an interstate marijuana distribution network.Huck, 22, of Ste. Genevieve, is one of several people suspected of importing marijuana through the mail from sources in California and selling it throughout Missouri, the indictment states. McCain, 20, of Marquand, allegedly helped to transfer drug payments back to California in an attempt to conceal the source of the money.Information in the indictment indicates Huck and McCain conspired to commit multiple crimes by communicating via Facebook, including an assault that they and Ault, 19, of Silva, are all charged for.Leading up to Aug. 8, 2017, the three men allegedly conspired to rob a victim identified in the federal indictment as “A.R.,” who was involved in distributing marijuana supplied by Huck. McCain, Ault and Ashton N. Roach, 19, allegedly carried out the attempt to rob “A.R.” There were no federal charges filed against Roach, although he is charged in Warren County. The Aug. 8 date coincides with the date the suspects are accused by Warren County authorities of breaking into the home of Airk M. Rader, 21, on Township Line Road. Authorities allege Rader was assaulted so the suspects could recover money he owed them. The assailants were scared away by a roommate in the home who was armed with a handgun.Although the Aug. 8 date of the assault is the same in both the local and federal charges, federal authorities have not confirmed that “A.R.” and Rader are the same victim. The month after the assault, Rader was shot to death Sept. 27, 2017. No charges have been filed in his death. Investigators have said they believe the separate violent crimes were both drug-related.Representatives of the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Huck and McCain are currently in federal custody, and that a federal court trial date for the three suspects has not yet been set.Arrest
