Arthur Schneider

Arthur E. Schneider, passed on Nov. 30, 2021. He was born Feb. 16, 1929, in Roselle, Iowa, to Joseph and Anna (nee Dreise) Schneider.

Arthur served in the United States Army from 1946 to 1947, during the occupation of Japan. He married Frieda Mae Riley on April 15, 1950.

He is survived by his loving wife Frieda; his children Dennis (Marie) Schneider, Bev (Larry) Fetterolf, Mark (Terri) Schneider, Rich (Donna) Schneider, and Lisa Schneider; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his children David Schneider, Gail Carpenter, and Alan Schneider; brothers George, Henry, Larry, Andrew, Norbert, Joseph, and Paul Schneider.

Art was a loving uncle and friend. He retired from General Motor in 1987 as a UAW pipefitter. He raised his family in Kansas and St. Charles, and retired in Warren County where he developed Schneider Woods. He was a lifetime member and past commander of VFW Post 2866 and Cooties and member of the Wentzville American Legion. 

Art spent many hours volunteering at VA Hospitals. He worked hard and loved his family, and supported them in many ways. He loved to laugh, sing, sit on a bucket. He had a love for John Wayne and doing his train whistles and country music.

Visitation will be held Dec. 14 at Baue Cave Springs, 3950 West Clay, St. Charles, from 4-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the St. Charles Memorial Gardens.
