A Wright City man is facing an additional felony charge in connection with an April incident in which he fled from law enforcement and scuffled with a deputy.
Carlos Ramirez-Antonio, of the 13000 block of Country Meadows, was charged Monday with resisting arrest. An arrest warrant was issued, and bond was set at $20,000 cash only.
According to a probable cause statement filed by Warren County Deputy James Bulkey, the deputy spotted Ramirez-Antonio on April 28 while driving south on Highway F. The description matched that of a fugitive reported by an anonymous caller. Bulkey tried to get Ramirez-Antonio’s attention using his siren and PA system before approaching him and confirming his identity by a tattoo of his last name on his forearm.
When the deputy attempted to take him into custody, Ramirez-Antonio resisted, and both men fell during a brief struggle. Ramirez-Antonio fled on foot and was escaped in the trailer park. He was located and arrested the following day.
Ramirez-Antonio already faces multiple felony charges, including robbery, burglary, stealing, resisting arrest and property tampering.
