First responders across the state carried ceremonial torches to raise funds for Special Olympics Missouri Thursday, May 21. In Warren County local first responders carried their torch from Diekroeger Park in Wright City to the Warrenton City Annex Building Thursday morning in a run that lasted from 9 a.m. until about noon.
Thursday morning area first responders and athletes from Warren County Pathfinders descended on Diekroeger Park to start the run. Throughout the run those involved were supported by vehicles from the Wright City Police Department, Wright City Fire Protection District, Warrenton Police Department, Warrenton Fire Protection District, Truesdale Police Department, Warren County Ambulance District and the Warren County Sheriff’s Department.
Warren County Pathfinders works with Special Olympics Missouri to get their athletes involved and help the individuals in their programs develop independence and build lasting bonds with other community members.
