Annual Senior Expo; Wednesday, Oct. 4 in Wright City

Posted

The annual Senior Expo will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the Wright City Lions Club, 678 Westwoods Road in Wright City.

The event will offer free flu shots provided by Sam’s Club and free blood pressure checks provided by Legacy Drugstore.

Guests will be treated to a free chili luncheon.

The event is being organized and hosted by the Warren County Senior Center.

“Last year we were right under 300 (in attendance), so this year we’re expecting about 300 to 350 people,” said Lindsey Boehle, executive director of the Warren County Senior Center.

“We have everything ranging from a florist, elder law representative and home health care,” she said.

Vendors will have information about their products and services and how they benefit older Americans. Guests will be able to get questions answered.

The event has been important to the people it aims to serve, Boehle said.

“It highlights a lot of senior resources and service in the area. We recommend guests pick up something from each booth to take home and look back as needed,” she said. “It may be something they don’t need now, but in a few weeks, it might be.”

Vendors will provide attendance gifts. Winners will be announced throughout the day.

The event sponsor is Legacy Drugstore. The corporate sponsor is Ameren Missouri.

The Senior Expo is open to Warren County residents and residents of St. Charles, Lincoln and Franklin counties.

Boehle said this is the second year the Warren County Senior Center is hosting the event.
