All about Signs and Shirts is celebrating five years in business. The shop in Warrenton is one of the most well-known local providers for advertising and custom memorabilia. The business’s co-owners are happy to say it has been a busy five years. All About Signs got its start in 2014, when the family of Rhonda Moore and daughter Mallory Smith purchased Donna’s Signs from owner Donna Hampson. Donna stuck with them to help them learn the business of making signs and banners, and the company was just those three people, Mallory Smith said. Mallory’s husband, Tom, later joined the team.Within a year, they had added screen printing of shirts and were purchasing Hart’s Sporting Goods from owners Kerry and Donna Hart. The company now has 10 employees at its current location at 602 Progress Parkway, including Tom, who manages the business with Mallory. The crew has navigated the challenges of combining the products and services of two separate businesses, selling shirts, signs, trophies, plaques and more. Depending on the time of year, they handle a large number of orders from local schools, churches and other businesses.“A lot. I don’t even think we can count,” said Mallory, when asked how many orders the business handles. “Most of our customers (are from) word of mouth, people referring us. ... That’s something we take pride in. It’s a huge accomplishment when people love your product enough and love your customer service enough that they’re willing to share it with their friends and family.”And as community members themselves, once the crew completes an order, they get to enjoy seeing the end result after it goes to customers, said Tom.“For me, it’s seeing our product out in public — that same shirt we’ve done, or trophies and plaques, embroidery. Just seeing that out in public is really rewarding.”With a business built on making custom products, they said they are constantly solving new challenges that keep the job interesting. The key to their success, they said, is a group of dedicated employees who have taken to different roles that they enjoy.“This business wouldn’t be where it’s at without our amazing employees,” Mallory said. “They are what makes this business grow. We are so blessed and grateful to have them. All of them, with the exception of two, have been with us for almost the whole five years.”In the future, the owners of All About Signs and Shirts say the company has a lot of room to grow and more still to learn about providing the best products they can that customers will love.
