Mrs. Alice May O'Donnell of Warrenton. passed away on Monday, August 17, with her family by her side. Alice was born on December 9, 1930, to the late Phillip and Dorothy (nee: Delaney) Rollhaus in St. Louis. She had reached the age of 95 years.
Alice was united in marriage to the love of her life, Edward O'Donnell on May 20, 1950. To this union they were blessed with nine children to which they raised together on the farm. She attended East Central Community College in Union and earned her associates degree in accounting. Alice loved reading and served her community for years as head librarian at the Warrenton Scenic Regional Library, later working part-time after retirement. She was a gifted seamstress, and a proud member of the Stitch and Time Quilt Club. She made suits for Edward, wedding dresses for her daughters, christening gowns and baby blankets for loved ones. Above all, family meant everything. She especially treasured time with her grandchildren. Alice will be remembered for her creativity, unwavering love, and the countless lives she touched with her hands and heart.
Alice is survived by her nine children, Genevieve Coleman (James), Thomas O'Donnell (Marla), David O'Donnell (Cindy), William O'Donnell, Patrick O'Donnell (Jane), Kathleen O'Donnell, Veronica Lucy (Gary), Francine Klimas (Keith), Robert O'Donnell (Tracy); 20 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Dorothy Rollhaus; her husband, Edward O'Donnell; her brother, Phillip Rollhaus; and daughter in law, Margaret (nee: Nobel) O'Donnell.
Visitation for Alice will be Friday, August 21, at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton, from 4:30 P.M.- 7:30 P.M. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 22, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Jonesburg at 10 A.M. with a burial to follow at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery also in Jonesburg. Memorial donations are suggested to St. Patrick's Catholic Church in honor of Alice.
