Alderman Karen Casserly, who represents Warrenton’s Ward 1, has announced that she will resign at the end of May.Casserly said she plans to move to a residence outside of Warrenton, and because of that she cannot remain on the board of aldermen.During the board’s regular meeting Tuesday night, Casserly complimented the commitment she has seen among city staff and leadership, and said there are a lot of good things happening in the city.Casserly was recently reelected to her seat during municipal elections in April.Mayor Eric Schleuter said he would nominate a replacement for Casserly at a future board of aldermen meeting.
