AGAPE is getting ready to provide services to the residents of Warren County during the holidays and needs help fulfilling its promise.
“As the only full-service food pantry and social service organization in Warren County, the holiday season is one of our busiest times,” said Michelle Bernth, AGAPE executive director. “AGAPE has been serving the families of Warrenton, Wright City and the surrounding areas for over 20 years.”
AGAPE provides a number of services to local families during this time of the year. Donors and volunteers are needed for some of these events.
In partnership with the Knights of Columbus’ no hunger holiday, AGAPE will provide Thanksgiving meals to hundreds of local residents.
In December AGAPE will serve 500-plus kids with the share-a-Christmas program. The share-a-Christmas program has been ensuring that local children will receive Christmas presents for more than 15 years. Donors are needed for this program to help make sure that all children can be covered.
AGAPE is the Salvation Army service partner in Warren County. AGAPE, on behalf of the Salvation Army, is responsible for the local Red Kettle Bellringing campaign. Bell ringing will be at the Shell Station in Wright City and at Walmart in Warrenton. Bellringers will start the day after Thanksgiving and continue through Christmas Eve. Volunteers are needed as bellringers at both locations.
“Families in need turn to AGAPE first, because we have always been there for them,” said Bernth. “We are so grateful to all the people who support AGAPE during this busy time and ensure that we can help all the families who need us.”
AGAPE serves all of Warren County. For more information about any of these programs or for help, please contact 636-456-4645 or AGAPEMO.org.
