Reservations are being accepted for the 75th anniversary celebration of the Rotary Club of Warren County at the Warrenton Elks Lodge Saturday, Oct. 19.“Tickets are available now for Rotary’s silver anniversary celebration,” said Rotary club member Bart Korman. “Tickets are $40 per person, couples can attend for $75. We’ve already had interest in this big event.”Those interested in reserving a spot at the event should contact Korman by emailing bartkorman@hotmail.com or calling 636-359-0000.Donations and checks can be mailed to Rotary Club of Warren County, P.O. Box 61, Warrenton, MO 63383.Doors will open for the event at 5:30 p.m. Supper is scheduled to be served at 6:30 p.m., with a short program following.At 7:30 p.m., music from the band My Friend Mike will be the featured entertainment.In addition, a lucky winner will be chosen in the Rotary Club’s beef raffle, which is designed to help raise monies to close in on the $1 million dollar mark for scholarship gifts to area students.Over the past three decades, nearly $978,000 has been raised to help hundreds of area students in their efforts to attend a university.Tickets for the raffle are one for $20, three for $50, and eight for $100. Tickets are available through Rotary club members up to the drawing that night.Historical facts about the Warren County Rotary Club:There have been 75 local Rotary Club presidents over the 75-year history of the club.The club has met in at least 14 different facilities in Warren County over those 75 years, from Blue Moon Café in Warrenton as its first site from 1944-48, to the Warrenton Holiday Inn Express as its current meeting site. The club meets at noon on Thursdays at the Holiday Inn Express.The “Four Way Test,” which has been Rotary’s model for years in promoting fellowship amongst all people around our world today, was founded by Herbert Taylor in 1932. The test examines whether members’ words and actions are true, fair, build goodwill and better friendships, and are beneficial to all concerned.“This test has been translated to over 100 languages,” notes local Rotarian Bob Hysong. “This test provides us great rules to live by.”
