Absentee voting opens for Aug. 5 election

Absentee ballots may be cast in the Warren County clerk’s office for the Aug. 5 primary election. Registered voters who will be absent from the county, illness or physical disability, caretakers of those incapacitated or confined due to illness or disability, religious belief, or practice, employment as an election authority, incarceration, provided all qualifications for voting are retained, may cast absentee ballots. The clerk’s office will be open for absentee voters from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, Aug. 2. Absentee ballots will be mailed upon written request received no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 30. The written request must be signed and state the voter’s name, address at which is being registered, the reason for requesting an absentee ballot, and the address to mail the ballot. A first-time voters must send a photocopy of identification along with the written request to receive a ballot. Voters must also include their party preference for the ballot they are requesting.
