Absentee ballots may now be cast in the office of County Clerk Barbara Daly for the Aug. 7 election.Registered voters may cast absentee ballots in the clerk’s office for the following reasons:• Voter will be absent from the county;• Illness or physical disability;• Caretaker of those incapacitated or confined due to illness or disability;• Religious belief or practice;• Employment as an election authority;• Incarceration, if all qualifications for voting are retained;• Certified participant in the address confidentiality program.Absentee ballots may be cast between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 4.Absentee ballots will be mailed upon written request received no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1. When requesting an absentee ballot by mail, the request must be in writing, signed and must state the voter’s name, registered voting address, reason for requesting an absentee ballot, and the address to which the ballot is to be mailed.If the voter is a registered voter who registered by mail and is voting for the first time, they must send a photocopy of their photo ID (driver’s license, non-drivers license, passport or military ID) along with their request for an absentee ballot.Vote
