Absentee voting is open in Warren County ahead of this year’s Nov. 5 elections.The only issue on local ballots is whether residents of the Wright City R-II and Warren County R-III school districts will be annexed into St. Charles Community College’s taxing district.Certain qualifying voters may cast absentee ballots ahead of the Nov. 5 vote. To qualify, a registered voter must know they will be out of town the day of the vote, or else be prevented from voting because of illness or disability, employment, caring for a confined person, religious practice or incarceration.Absentee ballots may be cast at the Warren County Clerk’s Office Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Nov. 2 from 8 a.m. to noon.Absentee ballots will be mailed upon written requests received no later than 5 p.m. Oct. 23. Mail requests must be signed and have the voter’s name, registered address, and reason voting absentee. It must also include the address the absentee ballot needs to be mailed to.Any voter who registered by mail and is voting for the first time must also send a copy of a valid photo ID with their request for an absentee ballot.Further information on absentee ballots can be obtained by calling the county clerk’s office at 636-456-3331.Vote
