Absentee ballots are available now in the Warren County Clerk’s Office ahead of the Aug. 6 election.Tax increases for Wright City Fire Protection District and Warren County R-III School District are on the August ballot.Registered voters can cast an absentee ballot if they will be out of town on election day, or if they are confined due to illness or disability, or care for someone so confined, or otherwise can’t vote on Aug. 6 because of religious observance, certain employment or incarceration.Absentee ballots may be cast between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 3.Absentee ballots can also be mailed upon written requests received by the county clerk no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 2. When requesting an absentee ballot by mail, the request must be in writing, signed and must state the voter’s name, address at which they are registered, reason for requesting an absentee ballot, and the address to which the ballot is to be mailed.Any registered voter who registered by mail and are voting for the first time, you must send a photocopy of your photo ID (driver’s license, nondriver’s license, passport or military ID) along with your request for an absentee ballot.Information on absentee ballots may be obtained by calling the Warren County Clerk’s Office at 636-456-3331.Absentee ballots ready for election
