911 remembrance service, appreciation dinner planned

Churches and the Wright City community will recognize the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks with a service and appreciation dinner for all first responders who serve Warren County.The event, which recognizes those who serve their communities in crisis, or first responders, will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, at Wright City Middle School, 100 Bell Road, in Wright City.Everyone in the community is invited to attend to remember and honor police, fire, paramedics and rescue crews who risk their lives to save others.Emergency vehicles will be on display as well as a medical helicopter landing on the back lawn. There will be displays for kids at 10 a.m., services at 10:30 a.m., and dinner for all immediately following.The service will allow families and first responders time to interact, share their experiences, ask questions and give thanks.Pastor Joseph Purl of the Wright City Church of the Nazarene and chaplain of the Wright City Police Department, along with several other Wright City church pastors are leading churches and business community in the endeavor.The churches of Wright City are:Wright City Church of the Nazarene;First Baptist Church of Wright City;Immanuel United Church of Christ;SunRise United Methodist Church;Wesley-Smith United Methodist Church;Harmonie Church;Founder’s Grove Church; andMisfits for Jesus.American Flag
