Arrest warrants for 50 suspects were issued Tuesday as part of a countywide drug roundup
Sheriff Kevin Harrison reported the roundup was the culmination of more than 12 months of undercover investigations by officers with the East Central Drug Task Force.
The drugs that were purchased in 95 undercover buys included heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana, cocaine and numerous prescription pills.
Harrison said 30 officers representing several local agencies, including the the sheriff's department, Warrenton, Wright City and Truesdale police departments, Missouri State Highway Patrol and East Central Drug Task Force divided into two-man teams and began serving warrants around 6 a.m. Feb. 23.
By the end of the day, 28 suspects were in custody, according to Harrison.
