The celebrations continue on for the Wright City girls wrestling team as they recently had two Wildcats place first in the 34-team Seckman Tournament, and junior Kali Jensen achieved her 100th career win.

Both Jensen (29-7) and Lilliana Wiedemeier (31-15) won their weight class titles on Feb. 1.

Competing in the 115-pound class, Jensen went 3-0 and won two of her matches by fall. In the semifinals, Jensen won a 7-2 decision over Seckman’s Kaylee Horman. While competing for the title, Jensen went two rounds with Troy Buchanan’s Haddley Dale until she won by fall.

Wiedemeier competed in the 125-class and won three out of four of her matches by either fall or decision. In round five, Wiedemeier lost by a 3-0 decision to Seckman’s Ashlin Stivers.

At 130, Sadie Sehnert (39-5) received two byes to start off the day. In round three, she won a 11-0 major decision over Seckman’s Cameron Beck, and later went on to win by a medical forfeit over Fort Zumwalt West’s Micah Barnes. In the championship match, Sehnert fell in a 16-3 major decision to St. Charles West’s Arianna Augustyniak.

Jolee Lockhart (26-14) and Lauren Ritter (22-11) also found themselves placing in the top three of their weight classes.

Lockhart competed in the 135-class and won in a 7-2 decision over Westminster’s Kyrsten Brown to place third. Lockhart ended the day with a 2-1 record.

At 145, Ritter won three out of four of her matches to also place third. Ritter’s loss came early in the day after falling to Ste. Genevieve’s Hailey Wheeler in the third round. Ritter later bounced back and defeated Wheeler in the third-place match by fall after two rounds.

At 125, Rebekah Riggs (22-13) won three matches and lost one to place fourth overall. Riggs won all three matches by fall and defeated Brentwood’s Jessica Fallon in 28 seconds.
