SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Several members of the Wright City High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) earned distinction at the Missouri FBLA Leadership Conference April 10-12, placing four top-10 contest winners and advancing one Wright City member to the FBLA National Leadership Conference this summer.

Wright City members who attended the state conference were Payton Mosbey, Jack Murri, Ashlyn Guinn, Aubyn Semler, Laura Fontenot, Hailey Drake, Tayla Payne, Jeronimo Lesmes, and Natalie Mann.

There were among 4,000 registered attendees from 354 chapters to attend the Missouri conference, the largest FBLA state conference in the nation. The conference allows members to expand their leadership skills, compete in various events, and connect with members from across the state.

FBLA members competed in over 75 events ranging from Accounting and Agribusiness to Social Media Strategies and UX Design. The top 10 individuals/teams in each event were awarded medals on stage at JQH Arena. The top 4 in each event took home trophies and will advance to the National Leadership Conference this summer in Chicago.

Throughout their time at the conference, members engaged in specialized leadership academies led by professional trainers in various topics such as mastering self-awareness, creating their elevator pitch for their career, learning how to lead high performing teams, strategizing time-management, and more. The leadership conference had nearly twenty exhibitors including universities and military partners for members to connect with, leadership activities for members to engage in, and tours of the College of Business at Missouri State University.
