Prosecutors have charged an Ashland woman who allegedly started a fight with a group of homeowners and almost ran someone over in Wright City after they confronted her about her driving.
The suspect in the assault was identified as 23-year-old Allissa H. Reed, according to a document submitted to prosecutors by Wright City police. She is now charged with two felony assaults, two misdemeanor assaults, and resisting arrest.
Police said they were initially dispatched just before 8 p.m. on Sept. 11 to the area of Falcons Way for a report of an erratic driver. A caller had complained of a vehicle speeding up and down the street, allegedly having close misses with multiple adults and children.
When police arrived, they found that residents of the neighborhood had confronted the driver, Reed, who allegedly slapped one resident during the confrontation. The resident attempted to grab Reed and restrain her, allegedly leading Reed to bite the homeowner’s arm, before getting into a fight with another resident, according to police.
Reed then allegedly threatened to run over a third person preventing her from leaving, then drove her car directly at that person and missed him by inches, police said.
When two police officers put Reed under arrest, she reportedly fought and kicked them as well.
Reed is being held at the Warren County Jail without bond.
