Warrenton police have confirmed that the wounded man who was found at the location of the killing is also the suspect charged with murder and armed criminal action. Initial information released after the shooting did not specifiy the identity of either person found there.
The name of the murder victim has also been released: Maria Ortega of Warrenton.

Warrenton Police Department is investigating a Saturday morning killing and has arrested a suspect for murder.
In a prepared statement, a spokesperson for the department said officers responded to Anthony Steven Court just before 1 a.m. for a domestic disturbance with gunshots. Police found one woman deceased and a man who had been wounded. Police have not released the identity of either person.
Warrenton police said one person was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
According to online court records, the suspect is Miguel Ortega, 44, of Warrenton. Ortega’s residence is in the 1900 block of Golden Vicary Drive, just north of where the shooting occurred, according to court records.
Warrenton police said the investigation into the killing is ongoing, but that it is considered to be an isolated incident with no remaining safety concerns.
