A four-car accident took place in Jefferson County on Dec. 6 on Highway 21 north of Peachtree Plaza Drive.
A Warrenton man, 24, was traveling on the road and began to slow down in response to a vehicle turning ahead, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The vehicle behind him, driven by a Hillsboro woman, 19, failed to slow down and struck the rear of his vehicle, causing him to impact the vehicle in front of him and that vehicle to hit the vehicle in front of it.
The Warrenton man and the two other drivers involved in the accident did not report any injuries, according to the patrol.
The Hillsboro woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis via ambulance. According to the patrol she was not wearing her seatbelt.
