The Warrenton boys wrestling team recently won the GAC North Scramble on Jan. 29, while the girls placed third overall.
On the boys side, the Warriors competed in five duals and came out on top as the undefeated conference champions.
In the first dual, Warrenton came out strong and shutout Orchard Farm 73-0. Their dominance did not stop there as they went on to defeat Winfield (66-17), Holt (46-32), St. Charles (55-15) and St. Charles West (69-10).
Within the five rounds, six Warriors won all five of their matches in their respective weight classes. These wrestlers were Nathan Donovan, Coltan Tinker, Zayden Teson, Manny McCauley, Noah Lohrmann and Lucas Burroughs.
In addition, Jude Lohrmann, Jamarion Fulton and Korben Johnson won four out of five of their matches.
In the 215-pound class, Burroughs saw two opponents on the mat and defeated both of them by fall in a combined time of 47 seconds. At 106, Donovan defeated three opponents by fall in a combined time of 2 minutes, 12 seconds.
The girls team placed third after losing a 36-36 tiebreaker to St. Charles. They won three duals and lost to St. Charles West 53-30.
The Warriors defeated Orchard Farm 39–12, Winfield 36–18 and Wentzville Holt 30-24.
Meredith Donovan, Dakota Lohrmann and Allison Vacek went undefeated (5-0) in their respective weight classes.
