Montgomery Sinklear, 51, of Washington, was arrested on Aug. 1 following the theft of a motorcycle.
According to the probable cause statement, Sinklear had reached out to the victim inquiring about a motorcycle for sale. The two reportedly met at 900 Katy Lane in Marthasville so that Sinklear could test drive the motorcycle.
Sinklear then drove off with the motorcycle and did not return. The bike was discovered at the Hollywood Casino in Maryland Heights by witness one, who is friends with the victim. Witness one reached out to the victim about the bike and the victim then contacted the Maryland Heights Police Department, who found and apprehended Sinklear with the motorcycle's keys in his possession.
This was the third time Sinklear has stolen a vehicle in Warren County. When he committed the crime he was out on parole for the stealing of a motor vehicle. He had previously stolen a Dodge Durango twice, from the same location as the motorcycle theft.
According to the probable cause statement, Sinklear is considered a repeat offender and has multiple felony convictions for assault, stealing of a motor vehicle, tampering with a motor vehicle, failure to appear and possession of a controlled substance.
He was also arrested for tampering with a motor vehicle by the St. Charles Police Department along with the three charges in Warren County.
Sinklear is currently being held without bond until seen by a judge.
