Warren County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a local man after video allegedly showed him beating a 15-year-old child.
Adam W. Irvin, 41, was arrested March 30 and charged with child abuse, with increased severity because Irvin has a previous abuse-related conviction.
County deputies allege that on March 25, surveillance video at a home on Muse Road recorded Irvin punching, kicking and slapping the juvenile victim. Deputies said audio from the recording includes the victim stating that he is bleeding. After that, investigators indicated that the camera captured audio, but not video, of the juvenile being choked and gasping for air.
The incident was reported to authorities the next day, with the victim stating the assault took place in the living room of the home. Deputies reported that the victim had scratches, bruising, and dried blood in his ear consistent with the alleged assault.
Deputies said Irvin is a registered sex offender who is also under investigation for a separate crime. The sheriff’s department recently seized several firearms from his home, along with methamphetamine, according to the arrest report.
Irvin is currently being held in the Warren County Jail without bond. His next hearing is April 14 in Warren County Circuit Court.
