Two individuals were injured in a four-car accident that took place on Interstate 70 in Warren County on the afternoon of June 15, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred when the first driver, a 41-year-old man from Bensenville, Il., slowed down due to traffic ahead, according to the patrol. The second driver, a 66-year-old Wentzville woman, followed suit, along with the third, a 20-year-old Columbia woman.
The fourth driver, a 60-year-old Centralia man, struck the rear of the Columbia woman’s vehicle forcing her into the vehicle in front of her, and the Wentzville woman’s vehicle into the rear of the Bensenville man’s vehicle, according to the patrol.
The Columbia woman sustained minor injuries in the accident and a passenger in her vehicle received moderate injuries, according to the patrol. Both were transported privately to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital Lake St. Louis via ambulance.
No other injuries were reported in the accident, according to the patrol.
