Two people from Warren County were hospitalized Thursday, June 30 after their vehicle was rear-ended by a construction truck in Wentzville, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.
Joan M. Wichlan, 74, and Dennis W. Wichlan, 76, both of Warrenton, suffered serious injuries and were taken to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis, the highway patrol said in a crash report. Both people were wearing seat belts.
The crash occurred on Interstate 70 near the Wentzville Parkway overpass around 4 p.m., the highway patrol said. The 2017 Chevy Impala driven by Joan Wichlan was reportedly struck by a 2020 Kenworth truck, which the highway patrol alleged was following too closely. The impact pushed the Impala into a third vehicle in front of it.
No other drivers were reported injured in the crash.
