A Truesdale man is accused of making sexual contact with a female acquaintance while she was sleeping.
The man, identified as Brenden Michael Hampton, was arrested March 12 and charged with felony sodomy stemming from the incident.
According to the probable cause statement, the female victim was asleep in her apartment when she awoke to Hampton’s hand down the front of her pants. The woman told Hampton to get off of her, at which point the suspect ran out of her apartment, police reported. A witness told a Truesdale police officer he observed Hampton leaving the woman’s apartment and the victim told him she had been sexually assaulted.
When contacted by police, Hampton admitted to entering the victim’s apartment but he was trying to wake her up because food he was cooking awas ready to eat. When the officer told Hampton he would be swabbed for DNA, Hampton told police the contact was consensual, according to the probable cause statement.
