The Truesdale Board of Aldermen met last week and among other measures, they heard an update from Police Chief Casey Doyle on a police issue Ford F-150 they are using USDA grant money to purchase.
The roughly $68,000 grant is covered 75% by the USDA while the city of Truesdale will cover the difference.
They are purchasing the truck from Machens Ford in Columbia and the dealership is taking time to repair the damage before the truck is delivered.
They have been waiting on the truck’s delivery for some time and may have to wait a bit longer, as the truck received some hail damage on a Ford storage lot in Kansas City.
“It is still in a lot in Kansas City with hail damage,” said Doyle.
Doyle continued saying he was planning on pursuing a price reduction on the vehicle since it had received damage in recent storms. He said he did not expect that the damage to the vehicle would affect the grant but he had been in contact with the USDA and the dealership to make sure everything was in order.
“That’s my plan is to try and save some money hopefully,” Doyle said.
