Tik Tok causing vandalism, school says

Posted

Like many schools around the country, officials at Black Hawk Middle School say they're discovering that students stole or damaged items after seeing similar behavior on the social media app Tik Tok. Parents are being asked to intervene in the behavior.

“This is unacceptable and this needs to stop immediately,” Principal James Allison wrote to parents in a letter.

Staff at the middle school have reported items in bathrooms and classrooms being vandalized or destroyed, Allison said. Parents are being asked to talk with their children and explain that these actions are wrong and could have serious consequences. In the most severe cases, students could be suspended or be reported to police.

“We have an amazing school community and cannot let a small group of students making bad choices ruin it,” Allison wrote.
