Authorities have charged a woman accused of assaulting a person at Cedar Lake Cellars in October and stealing a wallet with bank cards.
Nicole Mullins, of St. Louis, was charged Feb. 1 with stealing and third-degree assault. She is currently in custody.
Court documents allege Mullins was involved in an Oct. 10 fight at Cedar Lake Cellars in Warren County. When another woman attempted to remove Mullins from the fight, Mullins allegedly punched the woman in the eye twice, then took her wallet containing her bank card and a second person’s bank card.
Witnesses provided a description of the suspect, but police could not identify her. Two hours later, the second victim whose card was stolen informed deputies that her card had been used at a bar in St. Charles.
Four days later, when a deputy checked back with the victims, it was learned that one of them had received security footage from the bar where her card was used and confirmed it was the same suspect from the assault. Deputies received the transaction information from the suspect’s purchase at the bar, and discovered that the suspect had signed her name on the receipt: Nicole Mullins.
Deputies were then able to determine Mullins’ complete information through a law enforcement database search.
