The suspect in an alleged assault that left the victim with a knife wound in his chest has been freed from jail on bond.
Kyle Edwards, 24, was freed from jail last week on a $30,000 bond. Edwards was allowed to pay 10 percent of the bond, or $3,000.
Edwards is charged with first-degree assault, a class B felony. He was initially denied bond after being arrested for the stabbing on Nov. 11. He was granted bond by Associate Circuit Judge Richard Scheibe on Dec. 16.
The conditions of Edwards’ bond require him to immediately enter into an inpatient treatment program at The Aviary Recovery Center, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility in Pike County. He must complete a treatment program there and follow all post-treatment directives to remain free on bond.
Edwards is also forbidden from having any contact with the victim, any witnesses or any family of witnesses.
Edwards was arrested Nov. 11 after a stabbing victim identified him as the person who committed the stabbing. The victim was hospitalized with a chest wound that was 3 inches long and 2 inches deep, according to the Warrenton Police Department.
Police said when Edwards was arrested at a home on Third Street, his hand and jacket appeared to have blood on them.
Edwards is being represented by St. Louis attorney Scott Rosenblum. His next court hearing is Jan. 27.
