Mary Lee Lewis (nee: Harper) of Warrenton entered heaven's gates on Sept. 11, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. On June 17, 1926, Mary Lee Lewis was born in Sikeston, MO, the daughter of Lee and Mary Harper.

Mary married Gerald Lewis in December of 1951. They shared 39 amazing years together. He passed away on Dec. 10, 1990. She shared wonderful, interesting stories about him and their marriage. Mary was mother to Charlotte, Jeri (Mark), Arthur "Art" (Judy) and Vicky (Keith); grandmother to Dawn, Jahnel, Steve (Elaine), Jake (Janell), Jamie, Ashley (Mark), Chad (Libby), Ryan (Jaden), and Raymond; great-grandmother to Charlotte (Curtis), Tyler (Alyson), Kylie, Austin, Andrew (Alexa), Grace, Cameron, Suzanne, Vince, Elliot and Ivy; and great grandmother to Kendall and Braxtyn.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Gerald Lewis; her son, Arthur Lewis, and his wife Judy; her daughter, Jeri Menke, and her husband Mark; and her grandson, Raymond.

Mary took pride in all the odd-and-end jobs she had worked. She started working when she was twelve years old and worked till she was eighty-one. She had a major passion for the St. Louis Cardinals. Mary enjoyed teaching and beating her grandkids at cards. She was the Queen of Gin Rummy; the last five years, she played it almost daily with Dawn. She had a great interest in going to the casino. She truly cherished her time with all of her family. She had such a vivid memory, that when she told a story, you could visualize it. She had such a precious, giving heart, and always directed you with great advice. She was always encouraging everyone to become better. She simply told things the way they were. Mary Lewis was a remarkable woman who will be missed dearly.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, Sept. 16, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis. A celebration of Mary's life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17,  from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Lake View Estates Community Center located at 28100 Oak Tree, Warrenton.
