A Marthasville-area resident was injured in St. Charles County Thursday, Feb. 17, when his vehicle was struck by a pickup truck that lost control in icy conditions.
Charles T. Lancey, 40, of Marthasville, was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis after the crash, which occurred at 8:20 p.m. on Highway 79, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol. A crash report from the incident states Lancey received moderate injuries.
According to the report, Lancey was driving southbound in a 2014 Toyota Tundra on Highway 79, north of O’Fallon, when his vehicle was struck. A 2007 Chevy Silverado 3500 which was driving in the opposite direction reportedly lost control and spun out, striking Lancey’s vehicle head-on.
Lancey was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, the highway patrol said. The driver of the Silverado, Jason E. Price of Old Monroe, was not wearing a seat belt, but did not have any reported injuries. The patrol reported that a 7-year-old child in the Silverado sustained minor injury, and was taken to St. Joseph Hospital.
