To the Editor,
With Summer break approaching in less than two months, I am reminded of the wonderful street fair that was “First Fridays on First Street” held in Wright City last year and will continue again this year. From May through August, events are held every first Friday of the month on First Street in Wright City. Every event has a different theme, from “Back to School” to “Cinco de Mayo;” the variety is sublime. Any person from Warren County or elsewhere is welcome to come, free of charge. Even the kids are welcome to attend.
There will be music, wonderful street food, beautiful handmade items, and an activity to match the theme of the event. These events are an awesome way to show support to local businesses, especially after the difficult times they faced due to the pandemic. The events are put on by the local Wright City Downtown Revitalization Committee, made up of citizens of Wright City, for Wright City and beyond. “First Fridays on First Street” only occur during the summer, so make sure to mark your calendars before it’s too late. I hope you all decide to attend; I know I certainly will!
