Joseph Hoffman

Joseph James Hoffman, of Ellisville, formerly of Innsbrook, MO., passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022.  He was born on May 9, 1930 in Paducah, KY to the late John and Gertrude (nee: Bryan) Hoffman.  Joe had reached the age of 91 years.

Joe proudly served our country in the United States Army.  He was united in marriage to Jacqueline Mary Sweeney on October 10, 1953 in Mobile, AL.  They spent 67 wonderful years together, before her passing in 2021.  To this union, five children were born. He was a family man and enjoyed all his time spent with his children and grandchildren. Joe was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Parish in Warrenton.  He worked for many years as a salesman for a roofing company.  He was musically talented and loved to play the ukulele and the organ and also loved to dance.  He enjoyed playing pool and was pretty good.  He enjoyed reading and was an avid walker.  Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Joe was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jackie; one son, James F. Hoffman; his parents, John and Gertrude; one great-grandson, Bryson Elijah Smith; two siblings, Mary Margaret Hoffman and Thomas Hoffman.  He is lovingly survived by his children, Joseph J. Hoffman and wife Roseann, Paul B. Hoffman and wife Tina, Mike W. Hoffman and wife Lisa, Mary Hoffman Smith;  14 grandchildren, Joseph J. Hoffman III and wife Shannon, Paul M. Hoffman and wife Katie, Matthew Hoffman and wife Lauren, Jessica Hoffman, James Hoffman and Elizabeth Keeton, Justin Hoffman and wife Jennifer, Josh Hoffman and Kristina Johnson, Amanda Zachman and husband Ethan, Paul B. Hoffman and wife Morgan, Josh Spinaio, Rachael Cory and husband Anthony, Michael Hoffman, Jacqueline Williams and husband Charles, Elizabeth Smith; 29 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
