James Roberts of Warrenton, passed away on November 9, at the age of 85. He was the beloved husband of Theresa Roberts (nee: Gray) of Warrenton; He is survived by his four sons, Steven (Cindy) Roberts, Patrick (Julie) Roberts, Thain (Mya) Timmerberg, Duane (Laurie) Timmerberg; two daughters, Amy (Paul) Hall, Jaimee Mayberry; sister, Diane Little; fifteen, grandchildren; three, great grandchildren; Nieces and nephew, Linda, Cindy, Betsy, and Vernon, many great nieces, nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ralph Roberts, mother, Stella Roberts (nee: Jamroz), daughter, Teresa (husband, Kelly) Lindsey, brother, Danny Roberts, sister, Betty Saunchegrow, nephew, Clifford Saunchegrow, grandson, Glennon Bunt, granddaughter, Tara Fifer.
James and Theresa spent a wonderful 27 years together, before his passing and they were blessed with a blended family of seven children. Steven, Patrick, Thain, Duane, Amy, Teresa and Jaimee. James spent many years working as a Post Master, where he became well-respected for his dedication and work ethic. Beyond his professional life, James loved being outdoors and enjoyed activities such as fishing, hiking, and kayaking. He was passionate about going to the gym and missed his gym buddies. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing baseball and football and watching the games. James was actively involved at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where he had taught basketball. James had a special fondness for feeding the birds and identifying the different species that visited. He also enjoyed music and had often attended concerts. James enjoyed history, especially learning about Native Americans. Additionally, he was a proud member of the McKinley Gold Bugs Alumni and Letter Carriers Association Union. But, most of all, James enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.
A visitation will be held Friday, November 29, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, in Warrenton. THe funeral will be Saturday, November 30, at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Memorials can be made in honor of James to: Native American Indian Rights Fund or Native American Indian College Fund.
