The Warrenton and Wright City girls golf teams both competed at their respective district golf meets within the past week.
Warrenton and Wright City both had golfers place in the top-35 of their competitions but did not have any state qualifiers.
Merrick Owens, who qualified for state last season, was the top finisher for Warrenton at the Class 3, District 2 meet. She placed 22nd in the competition, which was held at Warrenton Golf Course. She shot a 100 at the district meet, finishing two strokes below the cut line to advance to the state tournament. Jenna Marschel placed 40th for the Lady Warriors. She shot a 112. Olivia Mischlispy, Haley Rausch and Sierra Foley also competed for the Lady Warriors at the district meet. Warrenton placed 12th as a team in the district competition.
Three Wright City golfers competed in the Class 2, District 1 meet at Ste. Genevieve Golf Course. Katie Schanuel placed 32nd in the event for the Lady Wildcats. She shot a 102, which was seven strokes off the cut line to qualify for the state meet. Rylee Schaefer and Kailin Hawn also competed in the district meet for Wright City.
